When it comes to bathrooms, there are some things that you can't do without, you know, like a sink. If you're trying to fit a bathroom or powder room into a (really really) tight space, take a look at this list of sinks and vanities that can squeeze into the smallest of spaces.
WALL MOUNT SINKS
With traditional wall mounted basins, you get all the sink without a bulky vanity swallowing up space. Above, a small bathroom in a reclaimed mill in France, spotted in Dwell.
Here's an attractive, petite sink at a very reasonable price point. It measures 11.5″ wide by 14″ deep. Lacefield Porcelain Wall-Mount Bathroom Sink, starting at $92.95 from Signature Hardware.
Kohler's Soho sink measures just 20″ x 18″ and has a center faucet and a classic slightly-rectangular shape that's at home in pretty much any bathroom. The wall mount design saves just enough space. It retails for $265.
This sink comes in a stylish black finish, and is only 22″ wide by 12.5″ deep. Magali Wall-Mount Bathroom Sink, $169.95 from Wayfair.

CORNER SINKS
These sinks take things up a notch by taking up otherwise unused and awkward space in the corner, freeing up room for other bathroom features. Although this one above, seen in the New York Times, was custom made, there are other sources that sell retail.
This space-saving corner sink is 12″ wide and 18″ deep, and takes up just 8 3/4″ along each wall. Minimalist Porcelain Wall-Mount Corner Sink, $149.95 from Signature Hardware.
Kingston brass makes this small corner sink, which Home Depot sells for $147. Although it's square on the outside, the round bowl is a nice contrast on the inside. Each side is only a hair over 14″.
Philippe Starck designed this corner sink for Duravit, which sells for $191 on Wayfair. It's a nice blend of traditional meets modern, with an overall width of 16.85″.
SHALLOW VANITY CABINETS
Full cabinets can be hard to wedge in, but a shallow vanity not only takes up little space, but the closed drawers and/or cabinets are great for hidden storage. Above, a bathroom from Inside Out uses an inexpensive IKEA vanity as its base.
This petite vanity cabinet is 24 3/4″ wide and only 10.5″ deep, perfect for a bathroom where floor space is at a premium. A shelf inside the vanity maximizes storage space, and the towel hooks are a nice touch. LILLĂ…NGEN sink cabinet with 2 doors, $149 from IKEA. (You can also buy just the sink, to use as a wall mount or with another vanity setup, for $80. See IKEA's line of coordinating cabinets and mirrors here.)
Since the bowl is allowed to protrude a bit from the cabinet, this vanity combines a deeper sink with a smaller footprint, freeing up floor space. 18″ Utica Vanity, $359.95 from Signature Hardware.
This single-door vanity has a sleek, modern look. It's 16″ wide and only 12″ deep. Kinsey Single Vanity Set, $529.99 from Wayfair. (Also available in black.)
I love the modern style of this vanity and mirror set. Measuring 19″ from front to back, it's definitely deeper than the other options here, but its 16″ width makes it perfect for a narrow space — and it has both a cabinet and a drawer. Allier Modern Bathroom Vanity Set with Mirror, $799 from Wayfair.
At 24″ wide and 13.5″ deep, this vanity is a little larger than some, but it felt worth including because it has drawers, a real boon for organizing in a small space. HEMNES / HAGAVIKEN Sink Cabinet with Two Drawers, $219 from IKEA.
VESSEL SINKS
Vessel sinks work well with small bathrooms, especially when you can convert a tiny surface into an impromptu vanity that fits perfectly in a tiny space. Just make sure you've got enough room for the deck mounted faucet to go along with it. Above, a basic porcelain bowl and rustic faucet from Rizzoli's The Inspired Home: Nests of Creatives.
This square vessel sink is a diminutive 15″ square and is available from Kraus from YLiving for $110.
This simple round sink, designed by Kingston brass is also small at 15.75″ in diameter. It's available from Home Depot for only $61.
FLOATING VANITY CABINETS
Floating vanities offer the same closed storage as free-standing cabinets, but they take up less visual weight than traditional vanities, and are often just as tiny as the sink itself. The petite salle de bain above is from Cote Maison.
This wall-mount vanity, designed for a vessel sink (not included), is only 18″ wide and 12″ deep. The space underneath stays free, but there's still a bit of room on top of the vanity for perching toiletries, and the built-in towel bar is an interesting and useful detail. 18″ Dell Teak Wall-Mount Vessel Vanity, $218.95 from Signature Hardware.
The floating look gives this vanity an additional lightness, while the cabinet underneath (and the handy shelf under the mirror) provide storage. Senza Bathroom Vanity Set with Mirror, $499 from Wayfair.
This wall-hung vanity, which measures 19″ wide by 9 3/8″ deep, showcases a bit of modern, industrial style. The wall-hung style makes it easy to clean under, but the cabinet provides a welcome bit of hidden storage. 19″ Showcase Series Stainless Steel Wall-Hung Vanity, $239.95 from Signature Hardware. (Also available with a polished door here.)
SIDE MOUNTED SINKS
There ought to be a specific name for this style of sink. Although they too are wall-mounted sinks, they differ by having a shallow, yet elongated shape, with a faucet mounted on the side versus in the back. Above, Sarah Sherman Samuel used this style when renovating her master bathroom.
At 18″ wide by 10″ deep, this tiny wall-mount is one of the smallest sinks out there. Duravit Vero Wall-Mounted Handrinse Basin, $360.75 from eFaucets.
This sink has an attractive, modern look, and the attached towel bar is a nice touch. Cento Ceramic Wall mount Bathroom Sink, $459.99 from Wayfair.
And, again, a tiny bathroom from Inside Out, with a tiny sink, just for some added inspiration. Also lead image above.
